Der Master of Science in Embedded System Engineering bildet Experten für das Hardware-Software-Codesign aus. Im Zentrum des Masterprogrammes steht die Vermittlung von Kompetenzen zu den Anwendungspraktiken eingebetteter Systeme.

Das Studium richtet sich an Interessierte, die entweder das gleichnamige Bachelorstudium oder vergleichbare Studiengänge wie Informatik, Elektrotechnik oder Physik abgeschlossen haben. Nach dem Masterstudium können AbsolventInnen in den vielfältigen Anwendungsgebieten von eingebetteten Systemen arbeiten. Dazu zählen etwa Automobilbau, Luft- und Raumfahrt oder Telekommunikation.

Die Studienfächer werden auf Deutsch und Englisch praxisnah und interdisziplinär gelehrt und beinhalten unter anderem folgende Inhalte: Systemintegration, Optimierung von Systemen in Bezug auf Geschwindigkeit, Kosten- und Energieeffizienz sowie den Entwurf von mikroelektronischen und mikromechanischen Bauelementen. Außerdem können Studierende Vertiefungen wie Design and Simulation oder Robotics and Computer Visions, wählen.

The Master programme Computer Science gives students an in-depth insight into theory, techniques and methods of computer science. The internationally oriented degree programme offers besides courses and seminars also laboratory courses in computer science and internships.

The programme is primarily designed for graduate students of computer science or similar disciplines. To provide students with possible career prospects, various application modules can be chosen. These include bioinformatics, geo science, medicine, microsystem engineering, political science or economics.

Within the internationally oriented degree programme, students can select different key subjects and specialised courses such as algorithm theory, software engineering, computer architecture, information systems, cyber-physical systems and cognitive technical systems.

The Master programme Microsystems Engineering combines diverse areas such as electrical engineering, biology, manufacturing technology as well as chemistry and aims at teaching students how to engineer micro systems.

The master’s target groups are graduate students, who hold a bachelor in engineering or science. By successfully completing this master degree, students will be able to conceive highly miniaturized and multi-functional systems for various fields of applications.

Circuits and Systems, Design and Simulation, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Materials, Photonics as well as Sensors and Actuators are inter alia part of the curriculum. Essential for finishing the master’s programme is the submission of a Master’s thesis, which is based on project work performed during the second year.
